Monday – Friday, two shift operations: 6am – 2pm and 2pm – 10pm.

LKAB Minerals UK is looking to recruit a suitable candidate to fill the post of Production Operative at our site in Runcorn. Working daily with the other operators and under the direction of the Plant Supervisor to accomplish plant objectives in the areas of Safety, Environmental, Recovery, Quality, Reliability, Production, Efficiency, Cost Reduction and Innovation. Efficient planning and proactive strategy development for optimisation of plant, equipment and reports.

• Responsible for handling of materials around dock and flat store facility, transport and loading of finished and raw materials
• Adherence to local and government legislation and LKAB company policy on health and safety
• Ensure all tasks are sufficiently risk assessed and safe systems of work developed and suitable control measures implemented
• Ensures adherence to and compliance with company standards and the FIAS, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 accreditations
• Responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of equipment to ensure the safe and efficient operation of that works
• Operate the plant to deliver optimum productivity, efficiency, quality and performance to required standards
• Maintain housekeeping standards and routine inspections are carried out across the area of responsibility
• Responsible for the efficient execution of orders in a timely and efficient manner
• Have responsibility for the recording and management of stock
• Play active role in OEE and LEAN strategies to improve efficiency within the business unit and the wider company
• Closely monitor quality of raw materials and finished products and all testing in the Operational Efficiency programme
• Reports all damage and monitors waste tipped and reports data to Works Supervisor
• Undertake reasonable tasks as allocated by the company in addition to those defined

• Fork Lift Truck Licence
• Telehandler Licence
• Loading Shovel experience

• Works with a safety mindset at the forefront of all activities; not afraid to stop the task if it becomes unsafe; shows courage in challenging unsafe acts of others and escalating as appropriate
• Good concentration and attention to detail to quickly notice deviations in production with solid troubleshooting skills to determine causes of production issues
• Strong teamwork skills, focuses on the greater good of the site rather than personal gain
• Working knowledge of relevant machinery and equipment, including interpretation of production reports and identification of problems
• Keeps up to date and works within all relevant safety and quality standards and procedures
• Ensures finished products comply with specifications and delivered on time
• Self‑motivated and prepared to work on repetitive tasks
• Ensures processes and procedures are actively adhered to at all times, lives by the organisational behaviours and golden rules
