Many of our students experience Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and often present with some additional needs and barriers to learning.

About

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational and aspirational Catering and Hospitality Tutor. You will be a person-centred, organised, and emotionally resilient professional who can develop a practical curriculum that supports individual need and promotes continuity and progression for our learners. A secure knowledge and understanding of Level 1 / 2 courses, and the ability to accurately assess to ensure that the highest possible standards of learner achievement are met is essential.

This is a new vocation for the school so experience of starting a new project is preferable.

You will be delivering to small groups of learners, initially 4, but due to challenging needs and behaviours you will be required to contribute to the management of learner behaviour, displaying a high level of professionalism conducive to a school environment.

At all times you will be committed to ensuring high expectations for behaviour and learning and demonstrate a professional responsibility to promote the safeguarding and welfare of our learners.

Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Deliver vocational catering and hospitality teaching to learners, initially in small groups.
  • Develop a practical curriculum that supports individual needs and progression.
  • Assess learners against Level 1/2 standards to support high achievement.
  • Contribute to the management of learner behaviour and maintain a respectful, safe environment.
  • Work with school staff to promote safeguarding and welfare of learners.
  • Be prepared to start a new project as this is a new vocation for the school.
  • Engage with informal discussions with the Headteacher and participate in visits to the school if arranged.
Additional Information

You should note that, if successful you will be required to obtain a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check or Enhanced DBS Check for Regulated Activity. Further information about DBS checks can be found at

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its learners and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Our school is an equal opportunities employer which welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
