Teacher Active is proud to be working in partnership with a specialist educational provision in Runcorn to recruit a passionate and dedicated Food and Catering Tutor.

This provision supports young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, providing a structured and nurturing environment where students are encouraged to develop both academically and personally. The school offers small class sizes, strong pastoral support, and a therapeutic approach to learning, helping students re-engage with education and build confidence, independence, and life skills.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical food and catering lessons to secondary-aged students. The role will involve:

Planning and delivering high-quality, hands-on catering lessons

Supporting students to develop practical cooking skills and food hygiene knowledge

Encouraging teamwork, independence, and positive behaviour

Adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs

Managing behaviour positively and effectively

The Ideal Candidate

Holds relevant qualifications in Food Technology, Catering, or a related field

Has experience teaching or tutoring Food/Catering (desirable)

Has experience working with students with SEMH needs (desirable)

Is confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner

Is patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting vulnerable young people

Has experience working in a similar role (desirable)
