A SEN school in Runcorn is currently seeking to bring on board a teaching assistant as soon as possible. For individuals looking to begin their teacher training, this is an outstanding chance to acquire this experience. Through 1:1 support for children with a range of additional needs, such as those with lower literacy levels, English as a second language, and Special Education Needs, you will have the chance to increase academic achievement.

Your duties as a SEN Teaching Assistant will include:
  • Assist in carrying out educational strategies that are appropriate for each child's learning goals.
  • Develop a connection of trust with every child and speak to them in terms they can understand.
  • Encourage diversity, acceptance, and inclusion, and make sure all the children have equal access to learning and growth.
  • Encourage children's involvement and make sure they are paying attention during the lesson.
  • Provide opportunities for developing independence.
  • Give children, parents, and caregivers feedback about their development, accomplishments, and potential issues as directed by the teaching team.
Requirements:
  • Good knowledge of the national curriculum
  • Experience working with SEN pupils
  • A drive to inspire the next generation
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • An enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
