One of our flagship contracts is with the Ministry of Defence at a major base near Watford – a complex, high‑profile environment where we provide a full range of hard, soft, and technical FM services.
We’re now seeking a Fabric Technician to join the multi‑disciplined maintenance and reactive technician team, working full time in a single site role at Northwood HQ, maintaining and repairing site Fabric, Fixtures and Fittings as delegated by the Maintenance Supervisors.
You Will- Perform planned preventative maintenance, statutory compliance tasks and reactive works investigations/repairs on all Fabric, Fixtures and Fittings.
- Undertake planned preventative maintenance inspections across site to support the delivery to the end user.
- Undertake reactive maintenance on multi‑skilled disciplines across site (Plumbing, Painting, Groundwork, Plastering, Carpet Fitting etc.)
- Locksmith duties on a Reactive basis
- Fire Door PPM inspections and maintenance, including Reactive repairs
- Door Closer PPM inspections & Reactive repairs
- Support the A&E team with the escorting of sub‑contractors to support Planned and Reactive tasks across site.
- Liaise / assist with other services as necessary for the efficient delivery of work activities, workmanship and productivity
- Must be able to fully satisfy the Client security clearance minimum requirements (SC)
- Experience of fabric, fixtures and fittings Maintenance
- Suitable qualifications and experience in Fire Door inspections and maintenance
- Suitable qualifications and experience in Locksmith duties for reactive repairs
- Working knowledge of other building services and trades
- Excellent understanding of H&S procedures & safe working practices
- Working at Heights Certification (IPAF, PASMA & Harness Training) - desirable
This role requires a minimum level of security clearance and may also require a higher level of National Security Vetting. You should be aware that certain levels of clearance or specific projects and/or sites have UK residency requirements; and any dual or multiple nationalities must be declared. Any persons who do not fulfil these residency requirements may be unable to obtain the required level of clearance and would not be eligible to undertake this role.
