This Lead Science Technician will lead and manage a team of four experienced technicians, preparing equipment and supporting lessons and experiments across STEM subjects. The post holder will develop schemes of learning with the Head of Subject, ensure safe storage and COSHH compliance, and support the department’s science curriculum for students aged 11–18.

• Lead and manage a team of four science technicians.
• Prepare equipment, chemicals and apparatus for lessons and experiments.
• Collaborate with the Head of Subject to develop learning schemes.
• Ensure safe storage and COSHH compliance for all chemicals and equipment.
• Support teaching across STEM subject areas and adapt duties to individual strengths.
• Communicate effectively with students aged 11–18 and staff.

• Previous experience working in a school science laboratory.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
• Confident ICT user.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Enthusiasm for Science and STEM.

Northwood College for Girls has recently opened The Alvarium, a dedicated science building with state‑of‑the‑art labs, a Maker Space with 3D printers and a laser cutter, and a Junior School Science Lab.
