Position Overview

Fusion Medical Staffing‑Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU – Intensive Care Unit for a 14‑week assignment in Ruidoso, New Mexico. The role starts ASAP and involves 12‑hour night shifts (36 hours per week) as part of a dedicated clinical team.

• Assess and monitor critically ill patients, recognizing subtle changes in condition.
• Administer complex medications and treatments per critical‑care protocols.
• Operate and manage advanced life‑support equipment.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort, addressing physical and emotional needs.
• Document conditions, reactions, and interventions; notify providers of status changes.
• Perform advanced hemodynamic monitoring (arterial lines, central venous pressure, pulmonary artery catheters).
• Accurately document all assessments and interventions in the medical record promptly.
• Educate patients and families about ICU environment, treatments, and recovery expectations.
• Communicate closely with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.
• Maintain proficiency in critical‑care procedures and technologies via ongoing education.
• Adhere to infection‑control protocols and hospital safety standards.
• Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives to enhance outcomes and efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned within scope.
• Follow hospital safety and regulatory protocols.

• One year of recent experience as an ICU RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) and ACLS (AHA/ARC) certifications.

• Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification.
• TNCC or NIHSS certification.
• Any other certifications or licenses required for this position.

• Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication.
• English literacy—reading, writing, and communication.
• Ability to follow instructions and PC proficiency.
• Physical Abilities – remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, bend.
• Interpersonal Skills – collaborate positively with diverse personnel.
• Technical/Motor Skills – fine manipulation, assist in procedures.
• Mental Requirements – handle public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work with/without supervision.
• Sensory – visual acuity and effective communication.
