Two years current experience required in specialty; at least one 13-week previous travel assignment.
License:
State Nursing License (New Mexico or Compact State)

Certifications:

BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Must-Have:
Selected candidates must successfully pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test.
Candidates will not be able to start an assignment until they have passed this onsite administered test.
Should they fail, candidates will have one opportunity to re-test.
A second failure will result in contract cancellation and all applicable fees will be enforced.
Flexibility and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Description:

Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift.
Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients.
Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team.
Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care.
Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy.
Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care.
Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
Completes patient population, age-specific procedure, and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
Patient ratios may be up to 7:1 in medical/surgical and pediatrics, and 3:1 in ICU.
Bed count totals 19, with 6 in ICU and 13 in medical/surgical.
Scrub color and pattern are not specified; staff can wear any scrubs.
EPIC experience is preferred; training can be provided onsite.
Candidates must be adaptable and possess teamwork skills.
Experience in pediatric care or progressive care unit (PCU) is a plus.
