Job Title: Student Support Officer

Location: The Hart School, Rugeley, Staffordshire

Salary: Grade 6, SCP 9-15 (£24,641 to £27,024 per annum actual salary)

Start Date: As soon as possible

Contract Type: Permanent, Term-time plus 2 weeks

Working Pattern: Full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

The Hart School is seeking a compassionate and resilient Student Support Officer to join our dedicated Pastoral Team, acting as a trusted advocate for our students and helping them realise their full potential. In this vital role, you will play a key part in promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing, offering consistent support and guidance. Working closely with the wider pastoral team, you will be an approachable presence throughout the school day, ready to listen, respond to challenges, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.

• Have experience of working with children demonstrating challenging behaviour.
• Demonstrate the ability to build strong and effective relationships with students, staff and parents.
• Be empathetic, proactive and have high expectations for every student.

The Pastoral Team at The Hart School plays a vital role in supporting the personal, social, and emotional development of our students, ensuring that every young person feels safe, valued, and empowered to succeed. Committed to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment, the team works closely with students, families, and staff to provide tailored support, guidance, and early intervention when challenges arise.
