SALARY: £38,274 - £41,746 per annum + Benefits

Hybrid working – you will be expected to attend the office in Rugby, Warwickshire, West Midlands on regular occasions

Job Overview

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Senior Social Media Officer to take ownership of a growing and influential digital presence across multiple platforms. This role plays a key part in shaping how the organisation connects with global audiences and tells powerful stories of change.

As a Senior Social Media Officer you will lead strategy development, manage digital communities and deliver high-quality, platform-specific content that drives engagement, awareness and supporter action. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across international teams to ensure consistent, impactful messaging.

The Senior Social Media Officer will also use analytics, social listening and performance insights to continually optimise activity, while staying ahead of emerging trends and innovations in digital communications.

Duties

Your accountabilities as the Senior Social Media Officer include:

  • Lead the development and delivery of the social media strategy, ensuring alignment with broader communications goals
  • Manage the global social media channels and digital communities — engaging followers, responding to queries, and growing reach
  • Create and coordinate engaging, platform-appropriate content — including graphics, video, and storytelling
  • Analyse and report on performance, using insights to inform strategy and day-to-day decisions
  • Stay ahead of trends, spotting new opportunities for engagement and innovation
  • Support colleagues and partners with expert advice, toolkits, and training to strengthen their own social media activity
  • Contribute to integrated campaigns, helping amplify fundraising and other strategic profiling efforts (e.g. influencing, thought leadership, etc)
Candidate Requirements

ESSENTIAL

  • Proven experience in social media strategy development and hands-on channel management
  • Strong knowledge of major social media platforms and how to optimise content for each
  • Experience creating engaging multimedia content and adapting messaging for diverse audiences
  • Ability to analyse digital analytics and translate data into clear insights and recommendations
  • Familiarity with social listening tools and reporting dashboards
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and cultures
  • A detail-focused approach with commitment to high-quality, on-brand outputs
  • An inclusive, respectful and collaborative working style

DESIRABLE

  • Experience with in the international development, charity or not-for-profit sector
  • Experience using project management tools such as  or Miro
  • Confidence using creative platforms including Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud
