CNC / Setter / Operator Turner
Location:
Rugby, Warwickshire
Rate: £18 to £20 per hour
Hours:
- Monday - Thursday: 07:00 - 16:00
- Friday: 07:00 - 12:00
- Occasional weekend work required

We are seeking an experienced CNC Turner Operator with strong hands‑on experience.
Your new company:
- Based in Rugby, you will be joining an internationally renowned manufacturing business specialising in the design and production of a range of components and parts for several industries including automotive, mining, marine and more!
- Due to increased business and continuous growth, they are now recruiting for a CNC Seter/operator – Turner CNC Seter/operator – Turner – to join their machine shop team.
- The CNC Turner will work on several products, setting up and operating a range of CNC and manual machinery.
- Set up CNC turning machines according to engineering drawings and setup sheets.
- Select and install appropriate tooling and fixtures for each job.
- Operate CNC machines (Fanuc controls) to produce components to tight tolerances.
- Monitor production runs, adjusting machine settings to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Perform in‑process inspections using measuring equipment (e.g., micrometres, callipers, gauges).
- This is a summed‑up list, and other responsibilities and duties will be required.
- Proven experience in CNC turning and machine setup.
- Familiarity with Fanuc, or similar CNC controls.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong understanding of machining principles and tool selection.
- Competence in using precision measuring instruments.
- Experience in subcontract / jobbing environments.
- Ability to interpret CAD-generated drawings alongside models.
- Experience proving first‑off parts.
- Driving licence and own transport.
- Reliable, flexible, and dependable.
- Methodical with strong attention to detail.
- Calm under pressure.
- Takes ownership of work.
- Communicates issues early.
- Immediate start available.
- Competitive hourly rate of £18 to £20/hr (DOE).
