Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is central to Amazon's commitment to innovation. As Amazon evolves and adapts, this team ensures that the tools and technologies we use keep pace. As a Senior RME Technician, you’ll help us stay ahead by adopting the latest technologies and identifying new, efficient ways of working. Your focus will be on maintaining high standards and implementing upgrades to elevate our performance further.
Key Job Responsibilities- Demonstrate best practices on using equipment safely and monitor teams to ensure everyone follows the correct processes
- Track equipment performance through visual checks, condition-based monitoring, and preventative maintenance tasks, scheduling additional servicing when required
- Supervise technicians on shift to support their development and serve as the first point of contact for Reliability Maintenance Engineers
- Resolve equipment issues to reduce downtime, enabling faster package processing
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and standardise processes across the EU network
In every shift, you’ll lead a team to ensure everyone has the equipment they need and that it runs properly. You’ll monitor processes to verify regulations and policies are followed and ensure preventative maintenance enhances equipment uptime. Observing operations, you’ll suggest improvements to increase efficiency and productivity, then implement those changes across an EU-wide function. You’ll also monitor processes with tools such as Scada to guarantee performance and work closely with your line manager on administrative tasks.
BasicQualifications
- A full Engineering indentured Apprenticeship and/or qualification to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject
- Relevant experience in a technical leadership role
- Relevant experience in both electrical and mechanical disciplines
- Experience in automation or material handling equipment environments
- Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English
- Experience working in a multi-contractor and multi-site environment
- Understanding of PLC-based control systems and statutory compliance requirements
- Experience using computerised maintenance management systems to plan proactive maintenance and record reactive tasks
- A degree preferably in a technical discipline or operations
