The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to oversee the design and technical process on residential developments. You will manage a team of technical professionals and external consultants, ensuring all projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. Acting as the key link between land, planning, commercial, construction, and sales teams, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth project delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the technical function across multiple residential housing projects.
- Manage the production, review, and approval of design and technical information in line with regulations, NHBC standards, and company requirements.
- Provide technical input into land appraisals and site acquisition.
- Liaise with consultants, local authorities, utility providers, and internal departments.
- Support and develop technical team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
- Oversee budgets, programmes, and deliverables to ensure key milestones are achieved.
- Champion health, safety, quality, and sustainability throughout the design and build process.
- Proven experience in a Technical Manager or senior technical role within the house building sector.
- In-depth understanding of planning, building regulations, NHBC requirements, and design standards.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage both people and projects effectively.
- A solutions-driven approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Relevant technical qualification (e.g. HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline).
