Compensation
- Therapy sessions: £45 per hour plus funded specialist supervision and regular CPD
- Travel time: £15 per hour
- Mileage: 25p per mile
To provide specialist, face-to-face trauma therapy to clients who have experienced or witnessed traumatic incidents or traumatic bereavement. Therapy is delivered under the management supervision of the ASSIST Clinical Leads and adheres to evidence-based models, mostly Trauma-focused CBT, but also including EMDR.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver trauma therapy to ASSIST clients remotely or in other agreed local settings.
- Travel to client sessions as required.
- Provide information about trauma, bereavement, and PTSD as needed.
- Participate in regular clinical supervision with the ASSIST Clinical Supervisor (via phone).
- Maintain accurate notes for all sessions and submit monthly reports.
- Record statistical and performance data for all clients
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
- Work collaboratively with the ASSIST team, attending training and meetings.
- Professional qualification and/or significant recent experience.
- Post-diploma experience working with psychological trauma.
- Training/qualification in trauma-focused CBT.
- Knowledge of NICE-approved treatment approaches, including for traumatic bereavement
- Membership of BABCP (BACP can be considered as an alternative)
- Strong literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and travel to clients as needed.
- Ability and commitment to working as part of a team.
- Commitment to ASSIST’s mission and values and desire to promote these.
- Non-judgemental approach and openness to new methods.
- Understanding of health, safety, equality, and data protection requirements.
- Experience working with children.
- Training and experience in using EMDR
- Membership of the UK Psychological Trauma Society or the ESTSS
- Accredited therapist or working towards accreditation
