Job Opportunity: SEMH Specialist Teacher (Secondary)

Position:
Specialist Teacher for SEMH (Secondary)

• Provide tailored teaching and support to secondary-aged students with SEMH, helping them overcome emotional, social, and behavioural challenges.
• Develop and implement individualised learning plans that promote academic progress while addressing emotional and behavioural needs.
• Use a variety of behaviour management techniques to create a safe and positive learning environment for students.
• Collaborate with other professionals, including SENCOs, educational psychologists, and support staff, to ensure holistic support for students.
• Monitor progress, set achievable targets, and provide feedback to both students and their families.

• Experience working with secondary-aged students who have SEMH, including those with challenging behaviours and emotional difficulties.
• Strong knowledge of behavioural strategies, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.
• A compassionate and empathetic approach to teaching, with the ability to build strong, supportive relationships with students.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
