Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? Do you have experience supporting students with Autism (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Rugby. This role involves working with both primary and secondary aged pupils, helping them to thrive in a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment.
Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with ASD and SEMH needs
- Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering tailored learning activities
- Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive emotional wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with SENCOs, therapists and other professionals
- Support students both academically and socially, building strong, trusting relationships
- Has experience working with children with ASD and/or SEMH needs
- Is calm, patient and resilient, with a nurturing approach
- Has strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students and staff
- Is flexible, proactive and committed to inclusive education
- Desirable: Holds a relevant TA qualification or training in SEND
