We’re looking for a highly organised and dedicated Auction Operations Assistant to help manage and streamline our auction operations. We are a specialist Auctioneers and Valuers with a strong emphasis in the Stamp and Coin markets. This is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate team, working closely with clients, valuers, describers, and our specialist team to ensure our auctions run smoothly and efficiently.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs our Auction Operations Assistant, you will play a critical role in maintaining the smooth running of our auctions. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Catalogue & Bid Management: Daily data entry of Lots into our back‑office system, photographing items for both the printed catalogue and online listings, and liaising with our design department once auctions are ready to go to print. Accurately input commission and telephone bids during live auctions.
- Client Service: Deliver a seamless and high‑level service for clients visiting, bidding, and selling at T&T Auctions. Ensure clients receive professional and prompt attention at every stage of the auction process.
- Auction Support: Provide both back‑office and front‑of‑house support as required, ensuring the team’s operations run efficiently.
- Live Bidding: Bid live with phone bidders when necessary, maintaining the integrity and professionalism T&T Auctions is known for.
- Post‑Sale Handling: Manage post‑sale collections, shipping of items won, and processing payments from successful bidders.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Client Service Excellence: Proven ability to provide outstanding customer service, handling client needs discreetly and professionally.
- Technical Proficiency: High‑level computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Easylive would be advantageous.

Exceptional attention to detail, ability to stay organised and prioritise tasks, especially during busy auction periods. - Deadline‑Driven: Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Adaptability: Proactive with a “can‑do” attitude and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Teamwork & Flexibility: Reliable, flexible, and able to work effectively within a team. Willingness to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
- Fluency in English: is required.
- Own transport: required due to rural location.
Experience in the Auction industry or Philately/Numismatics (stamp/coin collecting) is a plus but not essential. Knowledge of photography, scanning images for auction purposes, and familiarity with Photoshop is also advantageous.
