Legal Secretary - Residential Property & Conveyancing

9:15am to 5:30pm (with a 1 hour 15 minute lunch break)
Flexible working available: full time or part time

We are recruiting a Legal Secretary to join a busy and well-established Residential Property & Conveyancing Law firm team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal secretary or a strong secretary/PA with audio dictation experience looking to develop their career within a law firm environment.

This is a float role, supporting multiple fee earners across the department rather than working with one individual and you will be a valued and integral part of the wider team.

The Role

You will provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Residential Property department in a fast-paced, transactional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparing, formatting and proofreading legal documents using digital audio dictation
Managing the flow of correspondence and documents in and out of the department
Scanning, emailing and filing documents, including opening and closing files
General file management and document organisation
Answering telephone calls, taking messages and handling initial enquiries
Providing support across the wider secretarial team when needed during busy periods or absences

Person Specification:

Previous experience as a Legal Secretary within a law firm (Residential Property experience desirable but not essential)
Strong audio dictation skills (essential)
Excellent IT skills:
Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and experience with a Practice Management System are advantageous
Excellent written English, grammar and attention to detail
The ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines
Will also consider experienced Secretaries / PA and EA with substantial audio dictation experience, ideally from a professional services or legal environment
