Management Accountant Part Time

Position: Management Accountant (Permanent, Part Time)
Location: Tunbridge Wells

I am working with a growing property development business known for delivering high‑quality projects across the South East. As the company continues to expand, we are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Management Accountant to join the team on a part‑time basis. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands‑on environment and enjoys working closely with senior leadership to support financial decision‑making.

The Role

The Management Accountant will take ownership of day‑to‑day finance activities, monthly reporting, and financial analysis across multiple development projects. You will play a key role in strengthening internal financial processes and ensuring accurate, timely financial information.

Key Responsibilities

* Produce monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting

* Maintain accurate project cost tracking, forecasting, and analysis

* Prepare budgets and quarterly reforecasts

* Support cashflow planning and monitor spend vs expected project timelines

* Assist with year‑end accounts and liaise with external accountants/auditors

* Oversee purchase ledger, sales ledger, and bank reconciliations

* Improve financial processes, controls, and reporting systems

* Provide financial insight and commentary to support the directors’ decision‑making

* Ad hoc financial tasks as the business grows

About You

* Part-qualified or fully qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) — QBE will also be considered

* Experience in property development, construction, or a project‑driven environment is essential

* Strong analytical and financial reporting skills

* Confident working both independently and collaboratively with senior stakeholders

* Good knowledge of accounting software (Xero, Sage, or similar)

* Able to commit to 3–4 days per week

* A commercially minded approach with excellent attention to detail
