Overview
We are keen to appoint an enthusiastic Neonatal consultant on a 12-month FTC to join the team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. This is a new position in the Department of Paediatrics at MTW NHS Trust, which provides a clinical service at both Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury (TWH) and Maidstone Hospital. This is a new NNU consultant post to complement the existing 6 consultants on the call rota for NNU.
This post has been created in line with the recent BAPM guideline and will make us compliant with the provision of 1 in 7 NNU consultants on calls. This post provides the experience of working at the Consultant level doing Consultant of the week in level 2 NNU in a 1:7 rota. Consultants are expected to do normal neonatal follow-up and general paediatric clinics for all ages (0-16 years) in non-hot weeks.
Preference will be given to candidates who have done a SPIN module in neonates and can demonstrate adequate neonatal experience. This post does not have any commitment as a resident on call unless there are emergency gaps on the rota. The General Paediatrics cohort will cover A&E and General Paediatrics. There is no commitment to cover general paediatric on calls.
We would encourage part-time and job sharers to apply for these jobs.
