Job Title: Child & Family Services Intern
Reports To: Program Director
Judson Center is a premier non-profit human service agency which provides compassionate and comprehensive services to children and families in need in SE Michigan/ Metro Detroit. We provide services to over 8,000 consumers annually in four Centers of Excellence:
Autism, Behavioral & Mental Health, Adoption and Foster Care and Vocational Disability Services. We operate out of five regional offices in SE Michigan.

Job SummaryThe primary responsibility of a Child & Family Services Intern is to include shadowing, assisting, and working with the team in the direct service area.
Job Duties & Responsibilities- The internship will follow the criteria of the specific university guidelines for field experience.
- Generally the intern will work on a project with the team.
- Perform duties as assigned by the Judson Center supervisor.
- Supervision will be provided as indicated by the university.
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Criminal background checks as required by licensing, agency, or other governmental and accreditation requirements
- Volunteer or work experience in the field is a plus
- Completion of agency requirements as for employees
- Computer literate – Word, Excel, and able to work with databases
- College courses in the area of concentration social work, counseling, psychology or education
- Valid Michigan Driver’s License, appropriate insurance and use of own vehicle.
- Non-Traditional work hours in the office.
- Working with consumers with a variety of behaviors, including aggression
- May include working in other environments outside the office, such as in-home or school settings
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit, communicate verbally and in writing, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard. Close vision requirements due to computer work. Regular, predictive attendance is required. The employee has the potential to encounter unpredictable and aggressive consumers.
