About this Position This position will support our group classes - Pool, After Rehab and Yoga as well as coverage in the surgical optimization clinic at the Royal Oak Hospital, providing education to patients preparing to undergo joint replacement surgery.

Scope of WorkUnder the general direction of the supervising physician, the athletic trainer delivers athletic training services to encompass the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of emergent, acute or chronic injuries and medical conditions. Athletic (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). highly qualified, multi-skilled health care professionals who develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health care programs for athletes and other patients. Under the direction of, on the prescription of or in collaboration with a physician, the practice of athletic training includes the treatment of an individual for risk management injury prevention, clinical evaluation and assessment, immediate care and treatment, and rehabilitation and reconditioning of injury or illness, or both.
Qualifications- Required Bachelor s Degree - Completion of a CAATE approved athletic training education program or educational equivalent.
- Preferred Master s Degree - Post-certification Master s degree in athletic training.
- BOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) - Upon Hire required
- Michigan State License - Upon Hire required
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred
- Certification from preferred list - Upon Hire required
- Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) - preferred
- Functional Movement Screen (FMS) - preferred
- Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP) - preferred
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Michigan preferred
