Job Summary
To provide comprehensive genetic counseling services to individuals and families seeking information about genetic conditions and to provide risk assessment. The genetic counselor practices as a part of a genetic service team, communicating genetic, medical and technical information with the knowledge and insight into the psychosocial and cultural experiences important to each patient and family. The lead genetic counselor has additional leadership responsibilities including training and oversight of learners, organization of workflow, and coordination of daily operations of the team.

- Required:
Master’s Degree in Genetic Counseling - Required:
Graduate of an accredited Genetic Counseling Program - 3 years of relevant experience; 3-5 years of experience as a genetic counselor is preferred
- Prior experience in a leadership role is desired
- Genetic Counselor License – State of Michigan (to be issued upon hire)
- Board Certified Genetic Counselor (BC-CGC) – American Board of Genetic Counseling (to be issued upon hire)
- Board Certified Clinical Molecular Genetics (CMG) – American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (to be issued upon hire)

Employment DetailsFull time – Day shift – 40 hours per week – 8:00am – 4:30pm – Monday – Friday
