Tax Preparer

Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team on a contract basis in Royal Oak, Michigan. In this role, you will handle individual and corporate tax returns with precision and efficiency, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in tax preparation and be detail oriented in using tax software tools.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and file individual tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax laws.

- Manage corporate tax return preparation, including forms such as 1120 and 1099.

- Utilize Drake Tax Software to streamline tax filing processes and improve workflow.

- Conduct thorough reviews of financial documents to identify potential deductions and credits.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state tax regulations to ensure accurate filings.

- Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information and address any inquiries related to their tax filings.

- Provide guidance on tax planning strategies to optimize client outcomes.

- Ensure timely submission of all returns, meeting strict deadlines.

- Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues within tax documents.

- Support clients with creative solutions for complex tax situations. Requirements - Minimum of 1 year experience in tax preparation, focusing on individual tax returns.

- Proficiency in Drake Tax Software is highly preferred.

- Strong understanding of corporate tax returns, including forms 1099 and 1120.

- Familiarity with current federal and state tax regulations.

- Excellent organizational and analytical skills to manage multiple client files.

- Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail.

- Effective communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration.

- Commitment to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
