Position OverviewAs an Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist, you will be a key member of a developing team, working to provide high quality HF care via an inpatient consultative service, outpatient clinic, and procedural work including right heart cath, vasodilator studies, pulmonary artery sensor implantation, and endomyocardial biopsy. Participation in other procedures including left heart work and/or imaging studies may be discussed in alignment with training and documented skills.
Interpersonal skills and a team‑oriented approach with a focus on patient care and communication is mandatory. APP support is present. Shared care for VAD and transplant patients is under development, with intent to become a VAD implanting center in the future. This represents a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to program development under the guidance of experienced leadership at a respected cardiovascular institution.
Services
Advanced heart failure care, teamwork, LVAD and transplant shared care, program development
Responsibilities- Deliver both inpatient (consultative) and outpatient clinical services with plans to develop a dedicated inpatient HF service as well as an LVAD program in the future. This includes shared care opportunities with existing patients.
- Procedures including right heart catheterization, vasodilator studies, pulmonary artery sensor implantation, and endomyocardial biopsy.
- Focus on teamwork and collaborative care with medical, surgical, nursing, and administrative colleagues both locally and across the Corewell system, including with the advanced heart failure program at Corewell Health West and regional centers.
- Opportunity to be involved in the education and mentoring of cardiology fellows (Clinical, Interventional, Imaging, Structural and EP fellowships), Internal Medicine residents, and Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine students.
- Engagement in clinical research to advance the field of advanced heart failure and mechanical circulatory support.
- BC/BE in general cardiology as well as in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology.
