Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 per annum + benefits
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced CMM Programmer to support high‑precision manufacturing through accurate dimensional verification and quality assurance. You will be responsible for programming and operating Mitutoyo CMMs, ensuring all components meet strict engineering specifications, and contributing to continuous improvement across inspection and manufacturing processes.
This role is essential in maintaining quality standards, optimising CMM programs, and supporting production teams with reliable and repeatable inspection results.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, edit, and prove out CMM programs using MCOSMOS software (including CAT
1000) from 3D models and 2D drawings.
Perform dimensional inspections using CMM equipment and precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
Carry out inspections on first‑off, in‑process, and final components.
Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and apply GD&T effectively.
Analyse inspection results and create detailed internal and customer-facing reports.
Work closely with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
Maintain, calibrate, and ensure consistent performance of CMM equipment.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within quality and manufacturing.
Ensure all programs are accurate, repeatable, and aligned with specification tolerances.
Key Competencies & Experience
Proven experience as a CMM Programmer within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Strong proficiency with MCOSMOS CMM programming software.
Solid understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Confident communicator with strong teamwork skills.
