Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Design Engineering Analysis Section Manager 2 on the Infrastructure Design Team (INF). This role supports the design, modeling, and integration efforts for Civil/Structural, Mechanical and Electrical elements for Sentinel Launch Facilities, Launch Centers, or Test Facilities. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You'll Get To Do:
The manager will lead a growing team of structural analysis engineers and will be responsible for leading all managerial tasks relevant to structural analysis. The manager will work 80% of their time in the structural analysis engineering discipline, as directed by the Command and Launch Infrastructure program IPT Lead. The manager will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and facilitating communications, tasking, scheduling, and technical reviews with each individual contributor's execution lead in Roy, UT.
Functional home room support, approximately 20% of the manager's time will be focused on recruiting, staffing, retaining talent, weekly team meetings, bi-weekly 1:1 meetings, and holding performance review discussions. Supporting relevant Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Community of Practice is expected. Position Benefits:

Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 8 years of experience; or Master's degree with 6 years of experience.
* Demonstrated excellence in the field of structural analysis.
* Experience in a technical leadership/management role.
* Experience in writing and presenting technical content.
* In depth familiarity with Abaqus, Ansys or Nastran.
* Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need. These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
* Master's degree (MS) in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or Professional Engineer's License.
* Master's degree in Business.
* In depth familiarity with the majority of the following:
Ansys, Abaqus, FEMAP, Nastran, LS-DYNA, Math Cad, Matlab.
* Strong experience leading teams and training others.
* Experience with individual contributor performance assessments.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
* Operates independently with limited to no supervision, and the ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers.
* Able to assimilate information from multiple sources, create coherent plans and then execute those plans.
* Exposure to structural test applications.
* Experience with seismic analysis (ASCE
7).
* Exposure to missiles program requirements & with propulsion.
* Team Center CPLM experience.
* Demonstrated experience working with customers to ensure project success.
