Overview
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an opening for a Principal Systems Engineer. This position will be in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. Relocation assistance may be available. Clearance:
Secret (with ability to obtain SAP clearance). Travel:
Yes, up to 10% of the time.
The Sentinel program has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer to join the team supporting activities including use case development, requirements definition/allocation, functional decomposition, interface definition, verification & validation, and requirements traceability. Specific duties include (but are not limited to):
- Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts.
- Work with technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature architecture content for large programs.
- Develop and incorporate system requirements and ensure proper representation in the model.
- Develop systems architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture (behavioral, structural, analytical).
- Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis.
- Develop unifying model techniques, procedures, and processes for model development, tool integration, and team integration.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5 years’ experience; or 3 years’ experience with a Master’s degree; or 0 years with a PhD.
- US Citizenship with an active DoD Secret Clearance (investigation date within the last 6 years).
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) Clearance.
- 3+ years of experience developing or reviewing requirements within DOORS or similar tool.
- 1+ year experience in ICBM (MMIII or Sentinel) or complex aerospace/defense systems.
- 1+ year experience in team environments with leadership responsibilities.
- 1+ year experience creating, updating, and maintaining system performance documentation.
- Experience with large-scale/complex system development across multiple phases (preliminary design, detailed design, integration and test, verification and sell-off, transition to production).
- Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools, practices, and methods.
- Broad understanding of complex engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.) for development of systems of systems.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with experience presenting to high-value customers and managing multiple projects with competing priorities.

The position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday with every other Friday off. Primary level salary range: $95,300.00 – $. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may be available depending on position and market conditions.
