Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is looking for a Staff (T-05) - Deputy Chief Engineer in our SDS Division. This leadership role is located in Roy, Utah
, and supports the Sentinel program.

• Development and execution of long-range plans and strategies while providing the most effective technology solutions to the program.
• Deploy architectures that align automation data integration with the digital engineering environment.
• Build technical roadmaps in support of program and organizational goals to achieve affordability and cost reduction initiative targets.
• Apply and develop highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories, and concepts.
• Act as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.

• Partner with members of the Office of the Chief Engineer to ensure USG Weapon System requirements are robust and being satisfied.
• Take leadership role in providing insight and knowledge transfer to others on internal and external technical solutions to solve complex problems.
• Develop advanced technological ideas and guide development into final product.

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with at least 12 years of progressive engineering experience; 10 years with Master’s; 8 years with PhD.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 years.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
• Experience in planning and executing weapons system development and test.
• Demonstrated ability to address complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.
• Must possess excellent leadership, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Self‑starter with strong program technical leadership skills.
• Ability to leverage experience/background to bring alternative ideas/solutions to the team.

• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
• A proven track record of developing and implementing strategies for change.
• Aerospace / Missile Industry Experience.
• Demonstrated role in weapons system development planning and execution, leading team to achieve critical organizational objectives.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes and approaches leveraging modern MBSE processes & tools.
