Automotive Equipment Technician

Overview

Starting Pay: $24-27/hr plus incentive pay that averages an additional $8,/year. Snap-on Equipment has an immediate opening for an Automotive Equipment Technician. The Automotive Equipment Technician is responsible for overall service call completion within the territory. The Automotive Equipment Technician is also responsible for assisting in problem solving, equipment installation, and repair. Serviceable equipment includes:

• Wheel Aligners
• Wheel Balancers
• Tire Changers
• Alignment Lifts
• Automotive/ General Purpose Lifts
• Specialty Lifts
• Brake Lathes
• Collision Repair Equipment
• A/C Units

Quantified responsibilities and job duties are included in the sections below.

• Repair, maintain, and install equipment in the assigned territory. Follow clearly established standards for repair protocol, response times, prioritization, and customer communications.
• Assist with complex customer problems.
• Responsible for call completion and closure for all customers in the assigned area.
• Manage customers' equipment needs during and after warranty periods.
• Resolve customer problems and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Sell contracts, updates/upgrades, and parts in the assigned territory.
• Call on customers prior to the warranty or contract termination date.
• Make cold calls to pursue the sale of service contracts.
• Schedule regular site visits with customers in order to provide timely, accurate equipment service.
• Assist with the collection of outstanding receivables.
• Administrative duties as required, such as on-site signatures from customers, inventory management, and fleet management.
• Collaborate with Snap-on Equipment Sales Force.

• Associate's Degree in a technical field, military training, or equivalent with 1-5 years of experience.
• Basic knowledge of pneumatics and strong mechanical skills.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Office products.
• Knowledge of PC hardware repair.
• Basic knowledge of undercar automotive operations.
• Knowledge of all products serviced by Snap-on Inc. as well as knowledge of all internal procedures.
• Ability to lift 45 lbs and work in an environment requiring frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, and sitting while driving.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with customers directly.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must possess the ability to work from home and be a self-starter.
• Ability to follow Snap-on’s Safety priorities and maintain a safe working environment.
• Ability to further expand the use of Rapid Continuous Improvement in day-to-day activities to increase organizational capacity.
