Customer Service Rep, Summer Seasonal
Under close supervision, the Recreation Assistant provides customer service to patrons and performs routine problem resolution in the assigned location.
Posted pay range is the starting salary. Pay rate offered is based on experience.
ResponsibilitiesProvide customer service in a fast, friendly, and professional manner.
Participate in daily operations of the assigned facility, which may include organizing, cleaning and sanitizing work and public areas, monitoring, and maintaining inventory and supplies.
Respond to requests for information, complaints, and/or other related issues from the general public.
Prepare paperwork, rosters, reports, and simple statistics related to daily activities.
Operate cash register, balance the register, complete receipts, handle cash, ensure all cash drawers and deposits are properly accounted for after each shift; maintain security of cash and keep accurate records.
- Attend in‑service trainings and maintain required certifications.
Receive and process recreation program registrations, memberships, and facility reservations, including routine bookkeeping activities such as processing refunds, printing membership cards and day passes, processing class transfers, and performing other related tasks.
Assist with pre‑event and post‑event activities, which may include event setup, painting and decorating, purchasing supplies, designing ideas and themes, cleanup and reorganization, prop and decoration storage, and inventory management.
Participate in daily operations such as distributing and collecting gaming equipment, setting up facilities for classes.
Assist with event day operations, which may include cash handling, beverage and giveaway distribution, and leading community activities.
Perform clerical activities in support of office operations, including entering information into databases, preparing promotional flyers, answering phones, filing, maintaining event calendar, and other related tasks.
Monitor patrons using recreation facilities, identify and resolve potentially hazardous situations, exercise diligence in maintaining safety for all members and guests, and perform emergency service by rescue, response, and first aid as necessary.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
- No previous work experience required; customer service and cash handling experience preferred.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License preferred.
- Depending on the area of assignment: must hold a Shallow Water Lifeguard Certification or obtain the certification within 30 days of hire.
