Retail Assistant Store Manager

We are looking for the right candidate for the position of Retail Assistant Store Manager – a key role to keep our stores running smoothly and customers satisfied.

$17.00 to $20.00 per hour

We offer an easily achievable commission structure that pays you for every transaction you process. Retail sales associates can earn up to 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $5.92 per hour on top of your hourly rate.

Position Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager with a minimum of six (6+) months of management/3rd key experience. Assistant Store Managers are accountable for day‑to‑day store operations, fostering a positive and productive environment, and partnering with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage Customer Relations/Customer Satisfaction. The role sets the tone for a customer‑centric environment.

The position analyzes store financial statements to ensure financial goals are met, participates in the company’s asset protection program, promotes our business, and targets new customer acquisitions. All employees work with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

Assistant Store Managers earn hourly wages plus commissions based on productivity and store performance. Pay is based on location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities of an Assistant Store Manager
  • Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers in a friendly and professional manner and rapidly addressing customer issues.
  • Monitor and assist in the training of Pawnbrokers so their development meets First Cash standards.
  • Recruit top talent through company‑prescribed channels.
  • Open and close the store, count cash drawers and merchandise, and ensure all procedures are followed to protect assets.
  • Ensure asset protection through inventory control, property safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
  • Administer processes and procedures within the store, including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, store systems, and enterprise‑level reporting.
  • Evaluate the store’s financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
  • Ensure that operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to ensure the value and integrity of all loans issued.
  • Complete assigned tasks and training for self‑development as requested.
  • Communicate clearly with employees to ensure they understand the store’s mission and profit objectives.
  • Remain up‑to‑date on product knowledge.
  • Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
