Advocates of guest experience who welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment and store cleanliness. Knowledge of in-store and digital services and features that drive adoption, loyalty, and guest satisfaction. Ability to make shopping quick and easy at checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive up while maintaining high quality.

Role development
The Guest Advocate role provides skills and experience in customer service, problem solving, adaptability, and product knowledge. Typical responsibilities and requirements are listed below.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest experience by delivering the service standard.
• Create a welcoming environment by greeting guests during daily tasks.
• Engage with guests to assist with their specific needs and resolve concerns.
• Promote current promotions, store activities, and events.
• Know the tools, products, and services available in the total store to solve issues and improve the guest experience.
• Thank guests and acknowledge their choice to shop at Target.
• Explain benefits of Target Loyalty programs and assist with sign-up as needed.
• Scan and bag items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with safety standards and company best practices.
• Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy.
• Explain and demonstrate Target App features (Wallet, Order Pick-Up, Drive Up, online ordering) and guide guests to enroll and use.
• Assist with returns and follow register prompts; partner with leaders as needed while following policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area; gather unpurchased items, baskets, and hangers for removal.
• Stock supplies during store hours while remaining available to guests.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; follow safety policies and report hazards.
• Support guest services (OPU, Drive-up, DU Returns) and ensure compliance with applicable laws (e.g., adult beverage laws).
• Perform other duties as needed based on business needs.

Physical Requirements & Schedule

• Accurately handle checkout operations and cash office support as needed.
• Scan, handle, and move merchandise safely; lifting up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 44 pounds occasionally.
• Flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays); reliable attendance.
• Ability to stay mobile for scheduled shift duration.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions (Drive-Up, carryout, etc.).
