Bakery Clerk – Sprouts Farmers Market

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Bakery Clerk is responsible for preparing and packaging all baked goods.

• Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods.
• Provide a high level of customer service, ensuring Bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented while maintaining cleanliness of the Bakery department area.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment—clean shelves and products, keep floors free of spills, remove hazardous debris, and perform sweeping.
• Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while monitoring product rotation and discarding outdated or spoiled items.
• Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality.

• Minimum 18 years of age with a high‑school diploma or equivalent; 1‑2 years of bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Dependable and flexible, able to work variable schedules that include nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Outgoing, friendly, and positive, with excellent communication skills and the ability to follow directions within a team environment.
• Capable of answering phones and taking special orders.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department, cleaning and sanitizing work area (tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.).
• Operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed; use knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products.
• Stand continuously for up to 8 hours per shift; transport trays up to 5 lb. from 7″ to 64″ and items up to 40 lb. from 5″ to 36″ over up to 36 ft without mechanical assistance.
• Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights & Measures regulations while maintaining a Food Handlers permit.
