Summary of PositionThe Lead Quality Inspector is responsible for overseeing product quality inspections on the production floor, ensuring the company’s products meet safety and reliability standards.
Essential Functions and Duties- Performs inspections of materials and in-process product to ensure product quality meets quality standards.
- Collects and organizes data from inspections to drive quality improvements.
- Applies data‑driven approach and problem‑solving methodologies to quality issues and process improvements.
- Works with manufacturing team to ensure quality control procedures are carried out properly.
- Works with Product Quality team to create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures.
- Works with Product Quality team to design, develop and conduct training sessions on quality control standards and process improvements.
- Requests and assists with corrective and preventive actions where required.
- Assists in evaluating, dispositioning, and documenting non‑conforming products (NCRs).
- Participates in continuous improvement project teams and activities.
- Follows safety rules and maintains personal safety and the safety of others including maintaining a clean and safe work area.
- Accurately records and reports information as required.
- Internal Quality Rejects percentage, Dock Audit report, incoming inspection reports.
- Other reports and information as required.
- Assists with incoming inspection of critical inventory supplies.
- Other duties may be assigned, directed or requested.
- Observe and hear warning signs and signals within all areas of the company.
- Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
- Wear synthetic gloves for hygiene reasons.
- Wear protective eye wear.
- Wear hair nets in required areas.
- Wear protective hearing gear.
- Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing environment.
- The employee may occasionally be exposed to dust.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
- The employee will work in a fast‑paced, team environment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1+ years of quality control, quality assurance or manufacturing experience.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
Salary: $21/hour. The final pay for this position will vary based on geographic location and candidate experience relative to what the company reasonably anticipates for this position.
