Heart of Texas, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner located in Round Rock, TX, is looking for a Veterinary Technician – Dentistry and Oral Surgery to join our team. The estimated start date is at the end of April 2025. As a hospital deeply rooted in the local community, you will experience a genuine local feel with Thrive’s national resources.

Job Description

Full‑time:
Tuesday‑Friday, 4‑day, 10‑hour shift.

About You

Dentistry & oral surgery veterinary technicians perform a variety of animal health duties and ensure quality pet and client care. The dentistry technician should be proficient in client communication and patient care duties, including but not limited to animal handling, venipuncture, medical math, pre‑ and post‑operative care, anesthesia monitoring, dental radiographs, and professional dental cleaning (ultrasonic scaling, polishing, and use of hand instruments for subgingival scaling and perioceutic application).

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of dental, surgical, imaging and laboratory techniques, and remain calm during stressful situations. An interest in gaining further knowledge and training to assist with specialized dental therapies such as endodontics, orthodontics, and advanced oral surgical procedures is a must!

Job Requirements
  • 3+ years recent veterinary technician/veterinary assistant experience
  • 2+ years anesthesia experience
  • LVT or VTS preferred
  • High school diploma or GED
