Overview

Baylor Scott & White Clinic – Round Rock 425 University is an outpatient department designed to manage the healthcare needs of the Round Rock community. This location provides a range of medical services, including pediatrics, mental health, internal and family medicine, dermatology and much more. Patients are seen by appointment, and we also offer extended and weekend hours for unplanned injuries and illnesses.

Walk-in/urgent care hours are for sick care only, and patients six months and older are treated. • Well-child checks, acute/sick visits, chronic care management, inbasket management (patient messages, refill requests, phone calls), and full-spectrum outpatient primary pediatric care.
• Collaborative team of 9 Physicians and 2 Advanced Practice Providers; each provider is paired with a dedicated CMA or LVN; strong team-based environment with access to experienced pediatric clinicians.
• Provide care in a large, established pediatric clinic with on-site lab and X-ray and extensive system-wide resources and specialty support.
• Ability to handle a patient volume of 15–30 patients per day, varying with well-child vs. acute visits.
• Perform well-child checks and manage wellness and acute pediatric visits; work in a collaborative, high-volume setting.
• Maintain records detailing treatment plans and outcomes; initiate timely consultation and referral when scope of practice or expertise is exceeded.
• Provide consultation level services for conditions/problems related to the Provider’s specialty and training.
• Perform invasive procedures specific to scope of practice as delegated by supervising Physician.
• Practice may occur in a team-based model focusing on acute and chronic illness management and population health.

• Ideal Candidate:
  Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP); comfortable managing both wellness and acute pediatric visits; thrives in a collaborative, high-volume setting.
• Education/
  
  Experience:
  
  1–2 years of pediatric or relevant primary care experience preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:
  Texas RN licensure or RN licensure with compact privilege;
  Texas APRN; current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Texas;
  Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer;
  National Nurse Practitioner certification in area of specialty.

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) Primary Care is a licensed, certified healthcare provider who provides direct patient care, has prescriptive authority, and is credentialed, privileged, and billed as an independent provider by Medicare and Medicaid. The Advanced Practice Provider offers medical care based on the supervising physician s scope of practice. These providers typically care for patients in internal medicine, family medicine, geriatric or pediatric clinics.
