As a Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intermediate Care (IMC) Unit, you will perform patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, and oversee delegated care.

• Perform and document patient assessments at admission.
• Create a plan of care, including discharge plans, revise the plan based on patient response, and evaluate effectiveness.
• Document outcomes of nursing interventions and patient responses.
• Provide educational materials to patients and families on care and treatments.
• Administer medications and complete treatments according to hospital policy.
• Perform venipuncture, administer and maintain IV fluids and IV medications.
• Review all new physician orders, ensure they are carried out and documented correctly, and verify that other departments are notified.
• Provide accurate and relevant patient information reports to the Nurse Leader and to the incoming shift to ensure continuity of care.

• 1 year of clinical nursing experience as an RN in a Med/Surg unit.
• Preferred: 1 year nursing experience in a Stepdown Unit.

• Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

• Current State of Texas RN license or Compact RN license (Texas license obtained within 90 days of hire).
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• NIH Stroke Scale within 60 months of employment start date.
• Advanced Trauma Care for Nurse, Trauma Care After Resuscitation, or Trauma Nursing Core Course within 60 months of employment start date.
