Position Status: Full-time, Exempt (40 hours/week)

Our Mission: The Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation develops and allocates resources to the Round Rock Independent School District to enrich, enhance, and maximize the quality of education for all students.

Position Overview

The Senior Development Director is a key leadership role responsible for driving the Foundation’s long‑term revenue growth through major gifts, legacy and planned giving, endowment growth, large grants, and multi‑year sponsor ships. This position leads strategy and high‑level fundraising for the Gala, Golf Tournament, and other flagship campaigns, cultivating strong relationships with top individual, corporate, and foundation partners.

Working closely with the Executive Director, the Senior Development Director creates and implements a comprehensive development plan focused on sustainable, mission‑aligned growth that supports innovative programs across Round Rock ISD.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Major & Strategic Giving
    • Develop and implement a strategic plan to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and large corporate partners.
    • Manage high‑capacity individual, corporate, and foundation prospects and donors.
    • Lead legacy and planned giving efforts, including donor education, outreach, and stewardship.
    • Drive endowment growth strategies to support long‑term financial sustainability.
  • Grants & Institutional Funding
    • Identify, prepare, submit, and manage large grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and other funding entities in alignment with the Foundation’s strategic priorities.
    • Partner with the Round Rock ISD Grant Coordinator on large district and multi‑year opportunities.
    • Track all grant activity and provide regular updates and reports to the Executive Director and Board.
    • Design and secure multi‑year sponsorship packages and high‑level underwriting.
    • Cultivate and steward corporate partners to deepen engagement and renewals.
    • Collaborate with the Development Director and marketing support to ensure fulfillment and recognition of sponsor benefits.
    • Serve as the fundraising lead for the annual Gala and Golf Tournament.
    • Set and manage revenue goals for sponsor ships, underwriting, major gifts, and large auction items.
    • Work closely with event chairs, board members, and volunteers to maximize participation.
    • Partner with the Development Director on guest experience, marketing, and event strategies.
  • Co‑create with the Executive Director a multi‑year major giving and endowment plan with clear goals and metrics.
  • Maintain accurate donor and prospect records in the CRM and generate regular reports on goals and progress.
  • Represent the Foundation at key community events and meetings as requested by the Executive Director.
  • Collaborate with the Development Director to ensure alignment between major giving, monthly and annual giving/communications strategies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in fundraising, development, or related fields (major gifts, planned giving, corporate partnerships, or large grants).
  • Demonstrated success securing five‑ and six‑figure gifts and managing a robust donor portfolio.
  • Experience with grant writing and managing large grant awards.
  • Strong relationship‑building, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Better Unite, Network for Good, Salesforce, etc.) and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively, work independently, and manage multiple high‑priority projects.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills for forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Ability to recruit, motivate, and partner with volunteers and board members.
  • Comfortable representing the Foundation in front of donors, district leadership, and community groups.
