Tooling Technician

The Tool/Mold Repair Technician is responsible for performing tool building, repair, and maintenance activities to ensure optimal productivity, quality, and safety within a plastic injection molding environment. This role supports internal teams by ensuring that molds and tooling are maintained in excellent working condition, minimizing downtime and maximizing production efficiency.

• Perform repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance on plastic injection molds.
• Maintain tools in optimal operating condition and complete minor engineering changes as needed.
• Troubleshoot mold issues and assist with corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all tool repairs and changes.
• Ensure proper inventory levels of replacement parts.
• Follow all internal safety and OSHA-required procedures.
• Assist process and engineering teams with mold‑related improvements and changes.
• Participate in team problem-solving activities, including root cause analyses.
• Train associates on proper mold handling and care.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Minimum 5 years of experience working with plastic injection molds.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in mold making and/or mold repair.
• Technical training or experience with CNC, EDM, and milling equipment.
• Ability to read tooling prints, hydraulic diagrams, and electrical circuit diagrams.
• Must have own toolbox with appropriate mold repair tools.
