The Center Director is the sales-driven leader responsible for driving student enrollments, revenue growth, and overall profitability of the Sylvan Learning Center in Round Rock. This role blends consultative sales, community relationship-building, team leadership, and operational management.
The ideal candidate is highly motivated by performance metrics, excels at converting inquiries into enrollments, and can lead a team of tutors to deliver exceptional academic outcomes while maintaining strong margins.
1. Sales & Enrollment Growth (Primary Focus)- Own and achieve monthly and annual revenue targets
- Convert inbound leads into enrolled students through consultative sales conversations
- Conduct diagnostic reviews and present personalized learning plans to families
- Overcome objections and confidently close enrollments
- Track KPIs including lead conversion rate, average program value, and retention
- Execute local marketing initiatives and community outreach to generate new leads
- Build referral partnerships with schools, PTOs, and local organizations
Success in this role is measured first by enrollments, revenue growth, and center profitability.
- Recruit, hire, train, and coach tutors
- Schedule tutors to optimize instructional coverage and labor efficiency
- Foster a high-performance, positive, and student-centered culture
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews
- Ensure consistent delivery of the Sylvan instructional model
- Manage center P&L; with focus on revenue growth and expense control
- Monitor payroll, cost of instruction, and operating expenses
- Ensure high retention rates and student progress tracking
- Maintain compliance with Sylvan brand standards and company policies
- Oversee daily center operations, including scheduling, customer service, and facility standards
- Serve as primary point of contact for families
- Maintain strong relationships with parents and guardians
- Address concerns promptly and professionally
- Conduct regular progress conferences to reinforce value and drive renewals
- 3+ years of experience in sales, retail management, or service-based business leadership
- Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding revenue targets
- Strong closing skills and consultative sales ability
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing a team
- Financial acumen and comfort managing budgets and performance metrics
- Education industry experience a plus, but sales leadership is essential
