Job Summary and Qualifications

This position is responsible for solid to expert knowledge of the modality for which they are currently cross‑training. The technologist communicates and works independently in performing all procedures on customers ranging in age from newborn to late adulthood. They prioritize, provide, and promote quality patient care to support the Mission, Vision, and Values of St. David’s Healthcare. The position maintains and supports facility technical and documentation expectations consistent with JCAHO regulations and standards.

The technologist positively reflects concern and consideration when interacting with patients, medical staff, and employees and demonstrates independent critical thinking skills to assume accountability for personal and team contributions.

Qualifications of the Multi‑Modality Technologist Education
  • Associate Degree
  • Graduate of AMA‑approved school of radiologic technology
Experience
  • Two years of previous diagnostic experience in an acute care facility desirable.
Licenses and Certificates
  • Registered technologist with current certification by ARRT (R) and CE compliance. ARRT (VI), (CV), or (MRI) certification within one (1) year of cross‑training start date.
  • Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist with the Texas Medical Board (TMB).
  • ARRT with MRI must be obtained within 1 year or employment start date.
  • ARRT (CT) ARRT certification within 6 months of cross‑training start date.
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Provider certification through AHA or ARC.

St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, which is part of St. David’s Health Care, is a 368‑bed acute care facility offering a range of complex specialties and sub‑specialties. Services include a nationally accredited oncology program with the area’s only adult transplant and cellular therapy program; advanced trauma care with a Level II trauma center; comprehensive cardiac, stroke and orthopedic programs; full‑service maternity and newborn care;
