In This Role, You Will
  • Lead and grow the team: manage and mentor a talented group of stormwater professionals in Central Texas, fostering a collaborative and growth‑oriented team culture.
  • Shape regional strategy: collaborate with leadership to craft and execute a long‑term strategy for the growth and development of KFA’s Stormwater Practice in Central Texas.
  • Deliver complex projects: lead the design and delivery of high‑impact municipal stormwater projects, including drainage master planning, flood mitigation studies, storm drainage improvements, and channel restoration initiatives.
  • Drive business development: cultivate client partnerships, direct project pursuits, and guide proposals, contracts, and presentations.
  • Promote technical excellence: apply advanced expertise in H&H modeling tools (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Info Works ICM) to ensure innovative project delivery that meets client needs.
Requirements
  • Texas PE license and a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience delivering municipal stormwater projects, with at least 3 years in a leadership or project management role.
  • Proven success working with Central Texas municipalities, especially the City of Austin.
  • Proficiency with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools, such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and Civil 3D or Micro Station.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing City of Austin Watershed Protection Department (WPD) projects.
  • Expertise in FEMA floodplain modeling, floodplain mapping, and TCEQ water quality design.
  • Experience with advanced modeling software (XPSWMM, Info Works ICM, HEC-RAS 2D).
  • Background in channel design and stream bank stabilization.
  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) designation is a strong plus.
