We’re looking for a creative and driven mechanical engineer to help bring innovative products to life—from early concept to production. At M3, Mechanical Engineers are integral to multidisciplinary teams working across lifestyle, healthcare, and workplace products. You’ll contribute to everything from brainstorming and prototyping to 3D CAD development, engineering analysis, testing, and production documentation. You’ll thrive in this role if you’re hands-on, curious, analytically rigorous, and excited to shape real-world products alongside a collaborative and fast-paced team.
What You’ll Do
As a mechanical engineer, you will create products informed by research and our stakeholder-centered design process. You will work closely with M3’s Design and Engineering teams to develop products across the lifestyle, healthcare and workplace industries. You will support the project team in strategy, design, detailed development, engineering analysis, prototyping, and technical documentation. Above all, you’ll create products of the future for our world-class clients alongside your creative and driven M3 Design teammates.
What we’re looking for…
• Curiosity, creativity, and the desire to find the best solution to a problem
• Ability to develop multiple concepts for a problem and quickly validate them through testing, engineering analysis, mockups, and prototyping
• Aptitude and interest in developing project management skills (scoping, planning, scheduling, budgeting, managing clients)
• Excellent written and visual presentation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with clients.
Experience / Education required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (M.S. preferred)
• 2–5 years of experience in product development, preferably in a consultancy or multi-disciplinary environment.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (Creo, Solid Works) and PDM tools.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping tools and test fixtures in lab or shop setting.
• Working knowledge of DFM/DFA principles and various manufacturing methods (injection molding, machining, 3D printing, etc.) and the ability to manage BOMs and oversee prototype builds.
• Strong analytical skills using tools like custom spreadsheets, FEA, MATLAB, or MathCAD.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident presenting technical content.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% for client collaboration, prototyping, or manufacturing support.
Bonus Skills (Preferred)
• Experience in product development, including manufacturing transition, for products in the lifestyle, healthcare and workplace spaces.
• Experience with top-down design and master modeling CAD techniques.
• Experience with electro-mechanical systems or precision mechanisms.
• Familiarity with basic electronics and embedded systems (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Lab View).
• Experience working on cross-disciplinary product development teams.
