The primary responsibility of the Admissions Coordinator is to facilitate the screening of potential students and admit new students into the THRIVE program. The Admissions Coordinator oversees and is responsible for the Admissions Department and will fill in for Direct Care.

Relationships:
The Admissions Coordinator is directly responsible to the Campus Coordinator & local Director.

Will primarily serve as a minister to students in the THRIVE program and assist with Direct Care.

• Lead prayer
• Engage in religious instruction
• Answer or return all incoming admissions calls, administer phone interviews, receive pre-entry medical results, review applications for admission, and physically admit students onto the local campus he/she is located at, including searching student’s belongings and confiscation of non-allowable items
• Provide crisis counseling over the phone and make referrals as needed
• Correspond with parents, drug courts, prison wardens, prisoners and others interested in THRIVE, while completing preliminary screening for those desiring entrance into the residential program
• Refer individuals to the website ivegirlsacademy.org or send an information packet containing the following items when receiving phone calls for general information:
  • Introduction letter, THRIVE Overview, application, medical forms, financial form. If accepted for enrollment send out the 2nd packet of policies, notarized forms, approved items list, Family Policies, Probation Options, school choice voucher information
• Interview potential students and set entry location and date
• Facilitate the Intake process by:
  • Verifying the admissions packet is properly completed before sending to the appropriate Program Coordinator
  • Having the student read and sign all forms in the Intake packet
  • Making a file with his/her name and placing the signed packet information in a digital file and physical file
  • Having the student read the “student manual” and sign an acknowledgement of placement 6.2
• Send list of numbers for student’s phone log with packet to Program Coordinator and Counselor/Therapist
• Cover all medicine and medical policies with student and family
• Assist Campus Director in other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• S/he shall be a person of spiritual maturity, amiable to the Assemblies of God doctrine, and in full agreement with the ATCOT mission statement.
• Shall have a current understanding and working knowledge of addictive problems and their deleterious effects. Shall have knowledge of the various treatment approaches and the reality that the only permanent cure is in Jesus Christ. Shall be empathetic to those with life controlling problems.
• Complete the Effective Biblical Counseling course or an equivalent course.
• Knowledge and understanding of potential students pre-admission and admission process.
• Knowledge of sociological and physiological aspects connected with Admissions and the Teen Challenge process.
• Knowledge and understanding of the judicial system.
• Ideally credentialed as a minister or pursuing credentials in the AG or doctrinally similar fellowship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
• Complete the P.S.N.C. certification course through Teen Challenge.
