Surgical providers care for adult and/or pediatric patients and specialize in Cardio‑Thoracic/Vascular Surgery.
Schedule- Monday–Friday 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- 1 in 6 call week, 1 in 6 weekend
- 10–12 patients per day
- ICU / OR / Clinic / Float rotations
- Perform comprehensive or problem‑focused physical examinations and obtain medical histories.
- Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Prescribe and manage therapeutic agents or procedures within scope of practice and based on evidence‑based medicine.
- Develop and implement patient‑centered treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
- Provide patient and family counseling on medical conditions, medications, nutrition, and health promotion.
- Maintain accurate medical records and initiate timely consultations or referrals when scope of practice is exceeded.
- Serve as first or second assistant in the operating room, performing indicated procedures such as endoscopic vein harvest for cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery.
- Follow up with patients pre‑ and post‑operatively, conduct inpatient rounds, and provide care in the emergency department.
- Knowledge of diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal and critical‑thinking skills for complex problem solving.
- Proficiency in computers and related software applications.
- Current Texas PA license and NCCPA certification.
- Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire or transfer.
- Immediate eligibility for health and welfare benefits.

- Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a PA setting.
