The Area Supervisor supports general store operations, supervises associates, and serves as Manager on Duty. Responsibilities include opening & closing the store, maintaining merchandising standards, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment, and coordinating company operational processes.
Essential Functions Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments- Practices safety in all activities and keeps the sales floor secure.
- Monitors safety, reports hazards, and secures the building, entrance, and electronic surveillance systems.
- Controls exit clearances, handles security checks, and responds to alarms.
- Ensures emergency exits remain uncluttered.
- Manages safety for customers, including accident prevention and reporting.
- Treats customers, associates, and leaders with respect.
- Exhibits courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times.
- Recognizes associate contributions through company programs.
- Upholds the company brand and dress code, ensuring associates do the same.
- Makes store areas clean, well‑maintained, and merchandised.
- Handles daily trash removal and store sanitation.
- Completes recovery, sizing, and markdowns per company standards.
- Receives merchandise trucks and non‑merchandise deliveries.
- Maintains organized stockrooms and aids floor placement.
- Secures back‑stock, protects against loss, and signs floor moves.
- Ensures compliance with monthly presentation standards.
- Promotes a strong loss prevention presence on the sales floor.
- Protects confidential and cash information.
- Maintains the Public View Monitor and conducts package inspections.
- Leverages best practices to increase productivity and reduce steps.
- Ensures associates follow front‑end best practices.
- Maintains pace, energy, and “presence” during the line.
- Trains associates on cash registers, shortage control, etc.
- Schedules break backups and ensures equipment functions.
- Manages go‑backs and teaches the Scan & Bag best practice.
- Maintains cleanliness and secures garment tags.
- Oversees compliance with go‑back procedures.
- Handles cash pulls, bank deposits, and merchandise receipt.
- Manages front‑end refunds, authorizations, and payroll functions.
- Assumes additional duties as delegated by Store Manager.

- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer‑service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications.
- Basic mathematics for retail operations.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
Ability to use store equipment, stand, walk, bend and lift up to 25 lbs., and perform assigned trades. Stockroom shifts may require lifting up to 20 lbs.

Base Pay Range$16.50 – $17.00 per hour, dependent on experience, qualifications and location.
