SAP Data Engineer - Rotterdam / Hybrid - Freelance

Global Enterprise Partners is currently seeking an SAP Data Engineer/ Analytics Consultant (ZZP / contractor) to support an accelerated finance transformation programme for a client in the energy sector. The assignment can be delivered mostly remote, with candidates requested onsite in Rotterdam 1 day per week.

This role is ideal for an experienced SAP data professional who can operate independently, take ownership of technical delivery, and partner directly with Finance and IT stakeholders in a complex transformation environment.

As part of a high‑performing SAP delivery squad, you will strengthen delivery capacity by designing and implementing finance‑focused data models and analytics solutions within SAP S/4

HANA and SAP Data Sphere
. You will act as a hands‑on specialist, contributing immediately to ongoing transformation initiatives.

• Design, develop, and maintain advanced SAP CDS views and complex data models in SAP S/4
  
  HANA
• Architect and implement analytical and reporting solutions in SAP Data Sphere
  , including semantic layer and consumption models
• Build, optimise, and maintain data integration and extraction pipelines across SAP and related systems
• Translate complex Finance business requirements into scalable and high‑quality technical solutions
• Work autonomously with Finance, Data, and IT stakeholders to resolve complex technical challenges
• Ensure data quality, performance optimisation, and adherence to SAP best practices
• Provide technical guidance and informal mentoring to other engineers within the squad
• Support testing, documentation, and handover activities where required

• Proven experience as an SAP Data Engineer or SAP Analytics Consultant
• Strong hands‑on expertise in SAP S/4
  
  HANA CDS view development and ABAP
• Experience working in SAP finance transformation or large‑scale SAP programmes
• Familiarity with SAP Data Sphere
  , BW/4
  
  HANA
  , or comparable SAP analytical platforms
• Solid understanding of data modelling, analytics architecture, and reporting frameworks
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage your own deliverables
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage directly with Finance stakeholders
• Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments
• Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus)

• Start date: ASAP
• Duration: Initial contract till end of May 2026 + extensions likely
• Location: Hybrid - 1 day per week onsite in Rotterdam
• Contract type: Freelance / ZZP / Interim
