As a Senior Certificates Trader, you will play a key role in scaling our renewable molecules and environmental certificates portfolio across Europe. You combine strategic vision with execution power and know how to turn market insight into measurable P&L impact.
The energy transition is no longer theoretical it’s a live market. Biomethane, hydrogen and biogenic CO₂ are creating entirely new trading dynamics.
Within our Certificates Desk, you’ll operate at the intersection of:
Voluntary & compliance carbon markets;
European certificate schemes;
Emerging renewable molecule markets;
Structured and cross-commodity opportunities.
This is a role with real responsibility, autonomy and growth potential.
Develop and execute proprietary trading strategies in European environmental markets;
Identify structural inefficiencies and translate them into actionable positions;
Build analytical frameworks and pricing models;
Manage positions dynamically in response to regulatory and market developments;
Collaborate with Business Development on origination and new market flows.
End-to-end strategy ownership and P&L performance;
Risk management within defined trading limits;
Capital allocation decisions within your mandate;
Scaling profitable strategies and growing the certificates franchise;
Maintaining disciplined execution and compliance standards.
5+ years trading experience in commodities and/or environmental certificates;
Demonstrated track record in strategy development and performance delivery;
Strong commercial instinct and entrepreneurial mindset;
Quantitative understanding and risk awareness;
Ability to operate independently in fast-moving markets;
Based in the Netherlands or willing to relocate.
You’ll join Eneco Energy Trade (EET), Eneco’s international trading hub, based in Rotterdam (next to Rotterdam-Alexander station).
