Brinsworth & Whsiton Medical Centre are offering and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic nurse tojoin our practice team, this is a permanent, part-time position, arising following the retirement of one of our nurses. The successful candidate will work three days per week.
Main duties of the jobThe role needs to be workedflexibly in line with the practice opening hours (these may change).
Will work collaboratively within the general practice team to meet the needs of patients,support the delivery of the Quality & Outcomes Framework (QoF) and anyother performance monitoring systems.

Undergraduate medical students, Physician Associate trainees Pre-registration pharmacists.
Clinical system:
System One
Assistin and perform routine tasks relating to patient care. Undertake and promote cervical cytology. Providea comprehensive family planning service and sexual health service. Undertake Spirometry and have undertaken relevant training. Managenewly diagnosed patients with Asthma, COPD & Diabetes.
- Undertake Chronic disease management and prevention Asthma, COPD, Diabetes,Hypertension, Hypothyroidism, IHD, Stroke, LD.
- Performwound care using aseptic technique and general wound care.
- Undertakeopportunistic screening of BP checks, height, weight, BMI, urinalysis, glucosemonitoring and smoking status.
- Administerinjections under an individual prescription or patient group direction
- Offera holistic approach to travel health including comprehensive advice for patients prior to travel.
- Undertakeear syringing.
- Competent in anaphylaxis and resuscitation techniques.
- Child Health and Child Protection, including immunisations.
- Promotehealth and well-being, through the use of health promotion, health education,screening and therapeutic communication skills.
- Referand use social prescribing teams.
- To undertake home visits.
- Toclearly communicate the health status of the patient using appropriateterminology, technology and format.
- INRmonitoring if agreed by a shared care protocol.
- Undertakeinfection control measures, including audits and annual reports.
- Nursing & Midwifery NMC Registered
- Qualified to undertake Cytology
- Experience of working as a Practice Nurse
- Previously worked in a General Practice setting undertaking long terms conditions i.e Diabetes, COPD, Asthma etc
